☁️Cloudflare

Learn how to setup Cloudflare on your website to benefit from their Anti-Bot, CDN Caching, and DNS services.

Changing to Cloudflare's Nameservers After adding your website to Spookhost(you will need to use Spookhost Nameservers first). After that, change your Nameservers to Cloudflare's Nameservers. After changing to Cloudflare's Nameservers, create an "A" Record to the "Website IP" shown in the Client Portal of your Space.

Installing an SSL Certificate

By default, Cloudflare uses "Flexible" SSL, which is not secure because it does not encrypt the traffic between Cloudflare and the Origin Server. The best way to fix it is to Install an SSL Certificate on Spookhost and then use Cloudflare "Full Strict" Mode.

  1. Head to our Client Portal and create an SSL Certificate.

  2. Add the CNAME Record on Cloudflare.

  3. After Certificate issuance, Install it on Spookhost cPanel (SSL/TLS Section)

In-depth tutorial

A dedicated tutorial of Installing an SSL Certificate is available here. Please use option 2 in the article, option 1 will not work in this situation.

Changing Cloudflare SSL mode Log in to the Cloudflare Dashboard, Select your Domain, and Select SSL/TLS at the sidebar. Select Full (Strict) Mode. If you get a 526 Error, Wait for a few minutes. If the problem still exists, Try Full Mode. It is also recommended to enable the "Automatic HTTPS Rewrites" option in Cloudflare. This will prevent any mixed content errors.
